  Photos and Media: Photos you upload to breadcrumbs are stored on our servers. We automatically strip EXIF metadata (including location data embedded in photos) before storage for your privacy.

  User-Generated Content: Your breadcrumbs, curated lists, reviews, comments, and saved places are stored to provide the core functionality of the app.

  Messages: Direct messages you send to other users, including message content, read receipts, and reactions.

  Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including views, saves, follows, and engagement patterns to improve recommendations and app functionality.

How We Store Your Data

We use secure cloud infrastructure to store your account information, content, and preferences. Photos are stored using secure object storage with time-limited access URLs. Some data is also cached locally on your device for offline access and performance.

We integrate with the following third-party services:

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls. Photos are served via time-limited signed URLs for additional security.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Data Retention

  Active Accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active.

  Inactive Accounts: Accounts with no activity for 6 months are marked as inactive. We will notify you via email at least 30 days before any status change.

  Data Purge: Inactive accounts and their associated data are permanently deleted after 1 year of inactivity.

International Privacy Rights
